For 2026, YorWealth is delighted to support York Against Cancer.
Cancer can affect anyone, at any time, and having access to friendly, local support services is invaluable to patients and families during diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
York Against Cancer exists to provide care for patients and their loved ones. As well as their own cancer care support centre, the charity also offers free stays in their respite properties across Yorkshire. They are designed to offer friendly spaces for patients and their loved ones to access holistic care away from clinical environments.
They provide a free minibus service to transport patients to their radiotherapy treatments in Leeds, and have their own mobile chemotherapy unit, fully staffed by experienced NHS professionals, to make treatment more accessible.
The team at York Against Cancer are very involved with community education too. They regularly visit schools to share their interactive teaching resources to help the next generation learn how to reduce their cancer risks and show what support is available to young people who are affected by cancer.
The charity also supports innovative research into new cancer diagnosis and treatment options. They collaborate with the University of York and York Hospital to fund research, new equipment, and clinical trials to be able to help more cancer patients in the future.
York Against Cancer is an independent charity is entirely funded by donations and fundraising actions. It is an honour to support their goals with our charity partnership this year.
